AUSTIN M. Kathleen "Kay" Austin, age 87, of Milford, beloved wife of the late Kenneth W. Austin, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 14, 2008 in Milford Hospital. Kay was born in Waterbury, on February 18, 1921 to the late James and Mabel Glasson Williams and was a Milford resident for 64 years, since her marriage to Ken in 1944. She was a member of the Lucia Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Wildemere Beach Congregational Church. She was a loving and thoughtful woman who will be greatly missed by her family and friends. During her lifetime, she was fortunate to have traveled to all 50 states. In addition to traveling, she enjoyed sewing and made most of her own and her husband's clothing. She and her husband also enjoyed square dancing and round dancing for many years. She was very skilled at arts and crafts and cooking. She made the best cakes and macaroni and cheese from scratch! She was also was an avid Yankees fan. Survivors include her cherished daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Frank Panaroni of Naugatuck; as well as her beloved granddaughter, Donna DeSantis; and great-grandson, Ryan Austin, both of Torrington. Friends are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday at 11a.m. in The Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford. Interment will be in Kingshighway Cemetery, Milford. Friends may call on Saturday 10 a.m. till time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wildemere Beach Congregational Church, 133 Broadway, Milford, Ct. 06460 in Mrs. Austin's memory.
