Marion VanNess Bradshaw Pearlstone, of Westport, a devoted wife, loving mother, treasured grandmother and loyal friend, passed peacefully at home on Thursday morning. The daughter of the late Henry and Rose Bradshaw of Bronx, NY, Marion attended Hunter High School and Hunter College in New York City. She married Arnold David Pearlstone, MD in 1956, after a successful career as the administrator of the Department of Radiology at Jacobi Hospital in New York City.
They moved to Fairfield in 1961 and then settled in Westport in 1963 where they raised four children. In 1980, she opened Oui Boutique and pursued a successful career in fashion, importing and retailing women's fashions in Norwalk. She retired in 1993 and continued to enjoy travelling and spending time with her family and husband of 56 years.
She was an inveterate volunteer, contributing her tireless energy and organizational skills to a variety of local charities and community organizations. In 1992, she and her husband founded an ophthalmology clinic in May Pen, Jamaica, serving the underprivileged of the island, supported by their own foundation, Eye Care for the Underprivileged.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, William Bradshaw; her sister, Carol Bradshaw; and her nephew, Philip Lentini. She is survived by her husband, Arnold Pearlstone; children, Nancy Pearlstone Anderson of Maitland, FL, David Bradshaw Pearlstone of Easton, Leslie Pearlstone Shain of Wilton and Martha Pearlstone Borrero of Wilton; 11 treasured grandchildren; and 12 beloved nieces and nephews.
Services were held at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Rd. in Fairfield Center followed by entombment at Oak Lawn Cemetery.

Dear Dr. Pearlstone and Family,
My deepest sympathy and condolences to you all. Mrs. Pearlstone was a wonderful woman and will be missed. Even though I had only knew her for a brief time. I remember what she has said and taught me throughout the years. For that I want to say, Thank You.
