ARSENAULT Martin Joseph Arsenault, age 83, of Monroe, beloved husband of Marie L. DeFrancesco Arsenault, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 1, 2005, at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Martin was born in Prince Edward Island, Canada, February 27, 1922, the son of the late Agape and Veronique Gallant Arsenault. Marty as he was know to all his friends was a resident of Monroe for 45 years, served with the Sea forth Highlanders of British Columbia in Canada, as well as the Britain Central Mediterranean Area and Northwest Europe, he enlisted in the Army on June 19,1940. He then worked for Singer's Milling, a machine operator at Avco and then worked for the Town of Monroe as a custodian at the Town Hall. He was a volunteer and member of the Senior's Group of Monroe and the St. Jude's Senior Group. In addition to his wife, Marie, survivors include two loving daughters, Deborah A. Dorio of Monroe and Doreen Arsenault of Stratford; a brother, Albert Arsenault of Montreal, Canada; two sisters, Emelda Gallant of Prince Edward Island, Canada and Bernadette Burns of British Columbia; three cherished grandsons, Jason J. Dorio of Pittsburgh, Pa., but currently residing in Kenya, Africa, as a missionary, Erik M. Dorio and Brett M. Dorio, both of Monroe; and many nieces and nephews in Canada. He was predeceased by a son, Gary M. Arsenault; five brothers, Henry, Pete, Leo, Carl and Frank Arsenault; and four sisters, Hermine Patenaude, Helen Mailet, Yvonne Chamblin and Bertha Arsenault. Friends are invited to attend his funeral on Saturday, November 5, 2005 at 11 a.m. from the Spadaccino Community Funeral Home 315 Monroe Turnpike, Route 111, Monroe, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at noon in St. Jude"s Church, 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe. Interment will follow at Monroe Center Cemetery, Monroe. The family will receive friends in the funeral home on Friday, November 4, 2005 from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial Donations maybe made in Martin's memory to St. Jude's Rectory Fund, 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT 06468.
