ARBAS Mary "Palumbo" Arbas, age 77, of Shelton, died Tuesday, July 26, 2005, at the Maefair Health Center, Trumbull. Mary was born in Bridgeport, on November 14, 1927, to the late Michele and Frances Rua Palumbo. Mary loved reading, sewing and crafts. She especially enjoyed watching the TV game show, Jeopardy. She was a wonderful, loving and caring mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren. She touched everyone she met and people will remember her bright and shining smile. Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband, Raymond Fernandez. Survivors include her two sons, David Fernandez and Matthew and his wife, Cathy Arbas, of New York; four loving daughters, Diane and her husband, John Coniglio, of Shelton, Victoria and her husband, Chris Pelletier, of Trumbull, Virginia and her husband, Ronald Vandeweerdt, of Newtown and Elizabeth and her husband Michael Steven, of Las Vegas, Nev.; one sister, Rose Palumbo of Bridgeport; her cherished grandchildren, Johnnie and Kyle Coniglio, Jake, Robyn and Alec Pelletier, Zachary and Eric Vandeweerdt, Jordan Steven, Canesa and Emillio Arbas; one special nephew, Michael and his wife, Alicia Connelly and son, Cameron. She was predeceased by one sister, Louise Connelly. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Saturday, July 30, at 9 a.m., from the Spadaccino Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Route 111, Monroe and at 10 a.m., in St. Lawrence Church, Shelton, with a Mass of Christian Burial.
