Ralph J. Pizzuto Sr.

PIZZUTO Ralph J. Pizzuto Sr., age 89 of Sarasota, Fla. and previously a Fairfield resident for 60 years, the beloved husband of the late Elaine (Cavalleri) Pizzuto, entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 22, 2010 at Doctor's Hospital Sarasota, Fla. with his loving family by his side. Born in Stratford on December 4, 1920, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Mary Pizzuto. Ralph was a retired district manager for the John Hancock Insurance Company in Stamford an a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He also was a coach for the Fairfield Little League for six years. Survivors include his beloved son, Ralph J. Pizzuto Jr. of Sarasota, Fla.; three grandchildren, Nicholas and Michael Pizzuto of Sarasota, Fla. and William R. Lopez of Bridgeport; one sister, Jennie Cretella of Bridgeport; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one daughter, Nona (Pizzuto) Lopez; and one daughter-in-law, Deborah Pizzuto. He also was predeceased by 11 siblings and most recent, Samuel and William Pizzuto and Mary Marranzino. Friends are invited to attend graveside services on Monday, March 1, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Thomas Cemetery, Mill Plain Rd. Fairfield. There will be no calling hours.
