Theresa Gaughan Ryan, age 81, of Boynton Beach, Fl passed away suddenly on November 16, 2012 while vacationing in Laguna Beach, CA. Mrs. Ryan was born in New York City and was a Monroe resident for many years before moving to FL. As a young woman, she was a renowned Irish step dancer, appearing at the 1939 World's Fair and on the Ed Sullivan Show. After raising a family of eight in New York and Monroe, she enjoyed an active social life in Florida with many lifelong and new friends, including her cherished friend Evelyn McCormack, who is also the grandmother of two of her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards, especially Marjan; however her favorite pastime was spending time with her family, visiting them frequently and enjoying their visits to Florida. She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, John Ryan of Boynton Beach, Fl; eight loving children, John Ryan of New York, Thomas Ryan and his wife Lin of West Haven, Robert Ryan and Jeffrey Clonts of Yarmouth Port, MA, Catherine Ryan of Dana Point, CA, Maureen McCormack and her husband Keith of Shelton, Patricia Mesaros and her husband Greg of Naugatuck, Jeanne DiSturco and her husband John of New York and Kevin Ryan and his wife Heather of Shelton; twelve cherished grandchildren, Ryan Pocock, Kara Fasulo, Shannon Russell, Caitlin Ryan, Taryn Mesaros, Fallon Mesaros, Mark McCormack, Kyle Ryan, Brianna McCormack, J.D. DiSturco, Mariella DiSturco and Michael DiSturco; two great grandchildren Bailey Russell and Braden Russell, two sisters-in-law Anna Ryan and Beatrice Ryan and many nieces and nephews, including her cherished niece Colleen McIlwee of New York. She was predeceased by two sisters Loretta McIlwee and Noreen Canazon. Friends are invited to attend her funeral services on Wednesday, November 28 at 10:00 a.m. directly at St. Jude's Church 707 Monroe Turnpike Monroe, CT. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Mrs. Ryan directed that no wake be held. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday November 27 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull.
