Sr. M. Fidelis Ruwart

SR. M. FIDELIS RUWART, SSND of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, 345 Belden Hill Rd., Wilton, died on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Lourdes Health Center in her 92nd year. Sister was born in Jefferson City, Mo. She was a teacher for more than 70 years and received her MA in Religious Education from Manhattan College and an MA in Spanish from Fordham University. She taught high school and was an administrator for more than 15 years serving in Puerto Rico and at St. Matthew's, Virginia Beach, Va. Sister returned to Wilton in 1990 and assisted in various positions. Survivors include a brother, Bill Ruwart of Bradenton, Fla.; a nephew, Garry Betzold and his wife, Diana of Sterling Heights, Mich.; a niece, Sue Burita of Arnold, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Sue Ruwart of San Francisco, Calif.; and many close friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 10 a.m. in the SSND Villa Chapel, Wilton with a Mass of Christian Burial. Bracken-Donovan-Spodnick, Bridgeport directing. Relative and friends invited. Visiting hours are Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Christian Wake Service will be Friday at 7 p.m. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bethel. Memorials in Sister's memory may be made to SSND Mission Advancement Fund, Wilton, CT 06897.
