Adrienne Beverly (Campbell) Carley, age 80 of Fairfield, CT and Fort Myers, FL, beloved wife of the late Neal Carpenter Carley also of Fairfield, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, January 23, 2014, while in her home in Ft. Myers, FL. Born in Trumbull CT, the daughter of the late Frederick and Lilly Campbell, she had been a Fairfield resident most of her life. She was an active member of Black Rock Congregational Church and served as a choir member, Sunday school teacher, VBS craft coordinator, Pioneer Girls Leader and even appeared as the angel in Black Rock's historic "Living Christmas Tree". In her early years, Adrienne worked as a secretary at James Staples Company. She also worked at Camp of the Woods ministries both at their Adirondack campus and their Florida campus. Upon returning to CT she worked as a teller for Mechanics and Farmers Savings Bank. Mrs. Carley's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her three children; Dean Carley and his wife Gail (Granville) of Barrington RI, Cynthia (Carley) Barker and her husband Bruce Barker of Trumbull CT, and Gayle (Carley) Hannay and her husband Michael Hannay of Westerlo, NY. She was adored by her 7 grandchildren; Brynn, Kalyn and Kyrian Carley, Jeffrey and Douglas Barker and Kasey and Kristin Hannay. She is also survived by her twin brother, Fred Campbell of Rutland VT, and a sister Darlynne Patrignelli of Trumbull along with numerous nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her infant daughter Sandra Carley and brother, William Campbell, of Boise Idaho. A memorial service celebrating Mrs. Carley's life will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 2475 Easton Turnpike in Fairfield (Black Rock Congregational Church is currently under construction) at 11am on Saturday, March 29th. Interment will be private in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends may greet the family at a reception immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the missions program at Black Rock Church, c/o Black Rock Congregational Church, 3685 Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield, CT 06825.
