Pjura, Adam J.
Adam J. Pjura age 92 of Trumbull passed away on Wednesday February 26, 2014 in Bridgeport Hospital. Adam was born in Bridgeport, to the late William and Kristina Pekar Pjura, where he attended Hall and Harding High Schools and went on to Ohio University, playing two years of Varsity baseball and receiving a BS in Science. He received his Masters Degree from Fairfield University and also attended classes at UCONN and Columbia University. Adam taught at Fairfield and Harding High Schools where he coached baseball and basketball. He was quite active in area sports playing baseball, basketball, tennis and golf and enjoyed sailing at the Pequonock Yacht Club. When he retired because of a disability he enjoyed walking with his dog Rusty a loving and trusty companion. Adam was extremely witty and a lifetime Bachelor. He was predeceased by two brothers, Dr. George and William Pjura, five sisters, his twin Eve Bundock, Theresa Parkermege, Ann Tomek, Mary Perry Stofko, and Cecilia Pjura, and is survived by several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass being held at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 22 in the Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Ave., Stratford. Inurnment will immediately follow in St. Michaels Cemetery Stratford. Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Pl, Stratford have been entrusted with the arrangements.
