Heher, John S..
John Sylvester Heher, age 95, of Trumbull and formerly of Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2014 in St. Vincent's Medical Center. Mr. Heher was born in Horseheads, NY to the late Sylvester John and Regina Heher. He was a retired Certified Public Accountant and an Air Force Veteran serving in both WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was very active in the community, where he officiated the first Trumbull Little League Game, started Cub Pack 67 in 1957, served as president of the Nichols Improvement Association (NIA) for two terms, and was appointed chairman of the State Board of Accountancy by Governor Ella Grasso. His leadership and honesty was passed on to his family and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Mr. Heher was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marion "Mimi" Hoadley Heher; his son, John H. Heher and four siblings. He is survived by his son, William Heher and daughter-in-law, Cynthia of Trumbull; his daughter-in-law, Sandi Heher of Trumbull; his grandchildren, John Heher and his wife, Kelly Elliott; Jody Heher; Will Heher and his wife, Julie Shuttuck; and Curt Heher; his great-grandson, Jackson Heher and many nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to attend his funeral services on Monday at 8:45 a.m. at St. Theresa Church 5301 Main St. Trumbull. Interment will be private. Friends may call on Sunday from 3-5 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home 399 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Memorial contributions may be made to the NIA, 1773 Huntington Turnpike, Trumbull.
