Klamka, Helen
Helen (Gaches) Klamka age 85 of Fairfield, devoted wife of 58 years to Frederick P. Klamka died peacefully with her family by her side on April 13, 2014. Born in Bridgeport, she was the daughter of the late Constantine and Zaharia Hatzis Gaches. A resident of Fairfield for over 55 years, she was a retired assistant to the former Dean of Arts and Science at Fairfield University. A religious and active member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Helen was a member of the Philoptochos Society and the Daughters of Penelope where she was a former treasurer. A gentle lady, full of love, laughter and faith, her life centered around her loving husband, children, grandchildren and her church. Survivors in addition to her husband Fred, are her children Paul Klamka and his wife Kathy of Phoenix, AZ. Thomas Klamka and wife Theresa of Cos Cob, CT. Dianne Sengstack and husband Gregg of Ft. Wayne, IN. Susan Carbine and husband Dan of Fairfield, ten grandchildren, her sister Olga Antone of Nashua, NH. several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to go directly to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 4070 Park Ave Bridgeport on Tuesday at 10am where the Rite of Burial will be officiated by Father Andreas Vithoulkas Presbyter, followed by interment in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield. Calling hours will take place on Monday April 14, 2014 from 4 to 7pm with Trisagion Services at 5pm in the Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main St. Bridgeport. A special thank you to the nurses, aids and Hospice unit on West Tower 7th floor at Bridgeport Hospital. Donations may also be made to Norma Pfriem Center, Bridgeport Hospital, 267 Grant St. P.O.
