Bishop, Isabel Ziobro
Isabel Ziobro Bishop, age 91, of Shelton and formerly of Southport, the beloved wife of the late Stephen Bishop, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Frances Ziobro, and was a lifelong area resident. Isabel was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving during WWII in the WAVES unit. She was a bookkeeper for many years at Zamary's market in Southport. Isabel's favorite pastime was visiting with her family.
She is survived by her loving children, Frederick Bishop of Fairfield and Thea Osseiran and her husband, Ed Picard of Westport. She will also be missed by her grandson, Stephen Osseiran of Westport; her brother, Raymond Ziobro of Southport; and many dear nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her a brother and four sisters.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Thursday, April 24, 2014 leaving the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Rd. in Fairfield Center at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke Church in Westport. Interment with military honors will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Friends may greet the family prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. until time of departure. To send an online condolence, please visit
