Gillette , Terry Dean
Terry Dean Gillette of Felton, DE, formerly of Easton, died Monday April 21, 2014 in his home. He was 75. Terry was born July 9, 1938 in Bridgeport, to the late George and Lorraine Seeley Gillette. He served on the Monroe Police Force, retiring after 35 years in 1999, as a Lieutenant. Terry was a graduate of the FBI National Academy. After moving to Felton, he worked for the Camden, DE Police Department as dispatcher for 10 years, and most recently for Justice of the Peace Court #16 as a Constable. He was a 32nd degree Mason, Past Master and Secretary of Washington Lodge #19, in Monroe, and current Secretary of Union Lodge #7 in Dover, DE. He also was Past Patron of Lady Martha Chapter #103 of the Order of Eastern Star. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Irene Gallant Gillette of Felton; daughter, Cynthia Karr and husband Bryan of Monroe; son, Mark Gillette of Ansonia; three stepdaughters, Bonnie Beardsley and husband Gregory of Monroe, Diane Mucherino of Bethlehem and Janine Valenti and husband John of Felton, DE; 3 stepsons, Scott Mucherino and wife Kim of Oxford, Vincent Alascia and wife Jamie of Goodyear, AZ, and William Alascia of Shelton; brother, Gregory(Grogg) Gillette and wife Wendy of Columbia, SC; sister, Pamela Visokay and husband Walter of Columbia, SC; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends may call Monday from 11:00am - 1:00pm in the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull. A Masonic Ritual will begin at 1:00pm. Interment will follow in Long Hill Burial Grounds, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Union Lodge #7 Scholarship Fund, 1478 Wyoming Mill Rd., Dover, DE 19904.
