SHELTON, CT: Joseph Richard Fusco, age 87 of Shelton entered peaceful rest at his home surrounded by his devoted family on April 23, 2014; he was the beloved husband of Barbara (Arpie) Fusco. Mr. Fusco was born in Stratford on June 14, 1926, son of the late Michele and Jenny (DeGrutolo) Fusco Cacavollia. Joseph was a retired Master Cabinetmaker and was co-owner of Fusco Brothers, Inc. in Bridgeport. He was a veteran of the Korean War Era, serving with the U.S. Air Force at Rhein Main Air Base, Germany. Joseph enjoyed fishing, boating, and hunting; he loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren, and vacationing in Maine; he was also an avid UCONN Basketball Fan. In addition to his wife Joseph leaves his loving family including, three children, Michael Fusco (Ellen) of Watertown, Michelle Fusco (Linda Pucci) of Portland, OR, and Gregory Fusco (Gina) of Ellington, five grandchildren, Michael Fusco, Nicole Gatcomb, Joseph Fusco, David Fusco, and P.F.C. Ashleigh Fusco, U.S. Army, special nieces Janice Jacozzi, and Virginia Chosed, his three siblings, Vera Wood, Joanne Gay, and Anthony Cacavollia all of Stratford, also survived by many nieces and nephews. His daughter, Valerie, and siblings, Angeline DiLorenzo, Domenick Fusco, and Marion Duska predeceased him. A Memorial Service and full Military Honors in celebration of Joseph's life will be held Saturday May 3, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour.
