Alberta Julia Hainsworth born April 12, 1930 entered into eternal life on April 26, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family following a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
The only and adored child of Albert and Victoria Petrasy, predeceased. Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she is survived by six of her seven children: Debbie Scott; Fred Hainsworth, Jr. (Jo); Starr Bullington (Paul); John Hainsworth (Pam); Mary Caprio (Russ); and her devoted son and caregiver Matt Hainsworth; 13 grandchildren: Max, Sam, Allison, Tom, Katie, James, Hillary, Tim, Drew, Anthony, Austin, Mallory and Evan; two great-grandchildren: Jolie and Daniel; her ex-husband Fred Hainsworth, Sr. She was predeceased by her infant son Timothy. She also leaves behind many more loving family and friends especially her cousin Sandra Bellito (Bob) and best friend Dorothy Greytak.
Known for her dignity, grace, love of nature and animals, smile and bright personality. She had many talents and in her youth played the accordion and piano for many years. She graduated with high honors from Stratford High School in 1948. In 1950 she married Fred Hainsworth. They lived in Lordship, CT where they had four children. The family moved to California in 1962 where they had two more children. In 1980 they returned to Connecticut where Alberta lived out the rest of her life. She always said that her heart was in two places as the older children had remained in California. Upon her return to Connecticut, Alberta was active in her church and had a successful career in real estate.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Shelton, CT on Monday, May 5, 2014 t 10:30 AM.
