Johnson, Dorothy (Dottie)

Dorothy (Dottie) Johnson of Monroe, CT. and Naples, FL. passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2014. She was born in the Bronx, New York. Dottie was a long time resident of Trumbull, CT. and fifteen years part time resident in Monroe, CT. Dottie also had 27 years of winter residence and member at the Foxfire Country Club Community in Naples, FL.
Dottie was the owner of Apollo Travel located in Monroe, CT. for many years. She was a long time member and past president of the Tashua Knolls Ladies Golf Association in Trumbull, CT. and a longtime member and president of the Foxfire Ladies Golf Association in Naples, FL.
Dottie was very active in the Mah Jongg Clubs at both residences. She enjoyed painting, knitting and playing bingo. Dottie also volunteered at the Cancer Association in Naples, Fl.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Clair Johnson and her 5 children; Cathy Uzarski of Bpt. CT., David Chomko of Waterbury, CT., Susan D. Kliczewski of Newtown, CT., Chris Chomko of Blairsville, GA., and Wendy Sebben (husband Paul Sebben) of Monroe, CT. Surviving grandchildren are Theresa Kliczewski, Jessica and Matthew Uzarski, Andrew, Julia, Katie and Samantha Sebben, Isabella Dockery. She is survived by a brother Edward Heske of Sturbridge, Mass., and a sister Jeanette Mannen of Southbend, IN. and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may greet the family on Wednesday, June 4th from 5pm-8pm at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home in Monroe. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, June 5th at 10am at St. Jude Roman Catholic Church, 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe.
