Francisco 'Panchi' Lopez, age 57, beloved husband of Lynn Socha Lopez, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 6, 2014. Born in Trinidad, Cuba, November 28, 1956, son of Francisco Juan Lopez and Ilida Gonzalez Lopez. Francisco came to the United States and had been a Fairfield Town resident for over 40 years. He received his engineering degree from Pratt Institute. A successful entrepreneur, Mr. Lopez went on to found and operate the Metro Lace Co. for over 30 years. He enjoyed collecting art, was a connoisseur of fine wines, travelling and spending time on the beach with his family and friends. He was the patriarch of his family and an inspiration to all. A loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, - Panchi will be greatly missed. In addition to his devoted wife, Lynn, survivors include his children, Chloe Marie Lopez and Julian Francisco Lopez, his mother Ilida Lopez, a sister, Ileana Lopez Caran, and her husband Raul, and his nieces, whom he loved as his own children, Ileana Caran-Costantini and her husband Joseph, Giselle Caran-Choy and her husband Octavio, and Yvette Caran-Fried, her husband Max Joshua and their son, Luca. Other survivors include his cousins Miralys Daly, Franco O. Daly, Marley Daly Rosevear, her husband David, and their daughter Evelyn, Julie Daly Parker and her husband Stephen. As well as his best friend Richard Rodriguez, who was like a brother, his wife Cindy and daughter Francesca. He was predeceased by his grandmother Ana America Cortez, his father Francisco Juan Lopez, cousin Franco A. Daly, father-in-law Joseph Socha and brother-in-law Alan Socha. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 am in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road., Fairfield Center with burial to follow at Mt. Grove Cemetery.
