Petrie, Margaret
Margaret Sim Petrie, age 77, longtime resident of Milford, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at home. Born in the Yonkers, NY on May 29, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Finley and Douglasina McGregor Deatcher. For over 25 years Margaret was an inspector for Northeast Electronics. She was active in the local Scottish Community and Scottish woman's lawn bowling league. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her beloved family. Margaret was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her "husband" William Petrie she is survived by her children Douglas Petrie and his wife Barbara of Shelton, Robin Austin of New Haven and Robert Petrie and his wife Natalee of Milford, cherished grandchildren Douglas, Alec, William and his wife Amanda, Christopher, Heather Rose and Jaret as well as her dear friend Joy Workman and many more loving family members and friends from the Scottish Community. Margaret was predeceased by her son William Petrie, Jr.
A Prayer Service will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Cody-White Funeral Home. Friends and family may call on Friday, June 13, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Margaret's name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 2969 Whitney Avenue, Hamden CT 06518.
