Philips, Robert K..
The Guest Book is expired.
Robert Keeler Philips, beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend, peacefully passed away with his adoring family at his bedside on June 10, 2014 at the age of 93.
The last surviving member of the Philips clan, hailing from Liberty, New York, Robert, born on May 6, 1921 was pre-deceased by his beloved wife, Camile and three sisters and four brothers. He leaves a wonderful legacy of memories, wisdom and unconditional love to his son, Robert David Philips and daughter, Sharon Lynda Calabro, his daughter-in-law, Rosemary Philips and son-in-law, Ross Calabro, his grand- children, Brian Philips and Jennifer McDonald, Craig Philips and wife, Jennifer Philips, Justin Calabro and wife, Kristin Calabro, Blain Calabro and Danielle Joiner, and great grand- children, Avery Philips and Gianni Calabro.
Every hat he wore - Dad, Gramps, Pop-Pop, Uncle Bob, Mr. Big - was worn with dignity, joy, and devotion. A gifted athlete, he was a fine baseball and football player in his youth, an avid fisherman, and outstanding golfer for over fifty years. As a General Electric employee, Bob was one of the original members of the Patterson Club in Fairfield, Connecticut where he registered six hole-in-ones throughout his golfing career.
Whether teaching golf, fishing or life's many lessons to his attentive family members, Bob was a superb and generous patriarch, who could fill a room with effective wisdom or captivating humor in just a few words. We all will miss you Granpa. You are forever in our hearts.
