Moody, Howard J.
Howard John Moody, age 88, of Shelton and formerly of Monroe passed away peacefully on Friday, June 13, 2014 at Masonicare at Newtown. Born June 6, 1926 in Arlington, New Jersey the son of the late Alden Howard Moody and Anna (Coggin) Moody. Howard was predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years Catherine (Bartley) Moody of Truthville, NY. He is survived by his devoted son Thomas and his wife Patricia Moody, and his 3 grandchildren Daniel, James and Robert of Shelton. Howard left high school to enlist in the Air Force in 1944. He was stationed in Okinawa where he was an airplane and engine mechanic. He graduated from the University of Bridgeport and the Bridgeport Engineering Institute. Howard worked at General Electric in Bridgeport as a tool and die apprentice before his 32-year career as an electrical engineer with Pitney Bowes in Stamford. Howard moved from Bridgeport to Monroe in 1973 where he and his wife lived for 33 years, and was extremely active in the Monroe Congregational Church and an avid gardener. For the past 7 years Howard lived with his dedicated son and family where "Grandpa" will be missed terribly. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
