Laura M. Gagnon 84, of 91 Jewett St. wife of the late Conrad 0. Gagnon died from C.O.P.D. at her home. She was born on Aug. 11, 1929 in New York City, N.Y. daughter of the late Samuel J. and Edith (Graves) Montgomery both of New York City, N.Y. Laura worked as a teacher in Middlebrook Junior High School in Trumbull and Amity Junior High School in Bethany and as a Laboratory Assistant in Yale New Haven hospital under Drs. D.R. Bareder and Dr. Seliczon. Also together with her husband of 52 years, they grew and sold gladiolus from a large plot at her home and later owned and operated a Rock and Mineral shop, Laurel Gems, at their home. Prior to her husband's death she was the producer of his public access TV show "Conrad's Corner" She had served the City of Ansonia as a Moderator and Head Moderator of elections. She had been very active in the Ansonia Republican Town Committee. She was also a member and later the Chairwoman of the Ansonia Board of Zoning Appeals. Survivors are daughters Carol Sardinha and Susan Gagnon Sparks two grandchildren Adam and Samantha Sardinha. Calling Hour will be on Wednesday from 8:30 till 9:30am in the Bennett Funeral Home 91 N. Cliff St. Ansonia at 10:00am her funeral procession will leave to the Church of the Assumption for a mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Mt. St. Peters Cemetery Derby.
