Roos, Garvin L..
Garvin L. Roos, Sr., age 78, of Wilton passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014 at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of the late Nancy Christensen Roos.
Garvin was born on May 10, 1936 in Norwalk, son of the late Joseph and Eva Dziemianzuk Roos. He left school to join the U.S. Navy and served as a quartermaster during the Korean War. After military service he attended the University of Bridgeport and graduated with a BS degree in 1959. After receiving his CPA license in 1961 he went on to open his own private practice. After 44 years, Garvin retired and spent his time traveling with Nancy.
Garvin is survived by a daughter, Lori Hoyt and her husband Robert; a daughter, Lynn Tucci and her husband John; grandchildren, Lisa, Garvin III, Robert, Christopher, Jonathan; and four great-grandchildren.
Garvin is predeceased by his son, Garvin L. Roos, Jr. and his brother, Joseph H. Roos.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, July 25, at 10 Am in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Avenue, Norwalk. Burial, with Full Military Honors will follow in St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 Pm on Thursday, July 24, at The Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue Norwalk.
