Mildred A. Langer, age 84, of Meridan, formerly of Bridgeport, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2014. Mildred was born in Bridgeport, April 26, 1930, daughter of the late George and Veronica Wilchinsky Langer and was a Bridgeport resident for most of her life. Mildred graduated from Bassick High School, Class of 1948 and later worked for Sikorsky Aircraft for many years until her retirement. She had also belonged to the Holy Name of Jesus Church. Mildred will be lovingly remembered as a kind person whose main interest was her family. Survivors include her sister, Georgianna Barnett of Mississippi, a brother George Langer Jr and his wife JoAnne of Stratford, a special niece Kim Tomaso of Meridan as well as several additional nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Mildred will be sadly missed by her best friend Jean Bajorkas. She was predeceased by her sister Beverely Langdon. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11am in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield Center with burial to follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford.
