Merullo, Catherine B.
Catherine B. Merullo, 71, of Ridgefield, wife of Leonard R. "Lenny" Merullo, Jr., died at her home on Monday evening, August 11, 2014. Mrs. Merullo was born in Bridgeport, CT, October 1, 1942, daughter of Richard E. and Constance (Sumner) Bates. She was a graduate of Radcliffe College. A resident of Ridgefield for the past forty-six years coming from Massachusetts, she was an avid sailor as she was a member of the Saugatuck Harbor Yacht Club of Westport, CT. An avid reader, she enjoyed frequenting the Wilton Library as well as enjoying bird watching. In addition to her husband, Lenny "Boots" of fifty years, she is survived by a son, Matthew Merullo and his wife, Chris of Madison, CT; a daughter, Lisa Merullo of Pittsfield, MA; two brothers, Donald Bates of Sudbury, MA and Peter Bates of Natick, MA; a sister, Margi Sharis of Suffield, CT; three grandchildren, Nick, Allie and Carly as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place in St. Stephen Episcopal Church, 351 Main St., Ridgefield on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 11 AM. Interment will take place at the direction of the family. There will be no calling hours. Contributions in Catherine's memory can be made to The Wilton Library Association: 137 Old Ridgefield Road; Wilton, CT 06897. Kane Funeral Home, Ridgefield is in charge of arrangements.
