Sedlock, Teresa
Teresa Sedlock, 91, of Shelton entered into rest peacefully on August 14, 2014 at Shelton Lakes. She was the devoted wife of the late John Sedlock. Teresa was born in Derby on January 22, 1923 and was a lifelong resident of Shelton. She was the daughter of the late James and Theresa (Kent) Purcell. She was a graduate of Shelton High. Early in her life she worked for SNET. She moonlighted occasionally working part-time at Rasbach (LifeTouch Studios) and Hewitt Memorial. But her true passion was for her home and her family.Throughout her life she liked her arts and craft, shopping, swimming in the family pools, picnicking, trips to Cape Cod and South Carolina with her family, watching her son coach basketball and camping throughout CT. We will certainly miss her family-famous potato salad and snickerdoodles!
Teresa was the beloved mother of Joseph Sedlock and his wife, Michelle, and Teresa Phipps and her husband Gregory, as well as her daughter-in-law Lorraine Sedlock. She was the proud Nana of 6 loving grandchildren, Marcia McGinley, Karen Phipps, Ryan Phipps, Eric Phipps, John Sedlock and Katherine Sedlock and 5 great grandchildren, Anna McGinley, Caitlin, Maeve & Thomas Phipps and Colton Phipps. And several nieces and nephews. Teresa was predeceased by her son, James J. Sedlock, her brother, James Purcell, Jr and sisters, Kathryne Jurkowski and Mary Lockwood.
The family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to the staff of Shelton Lakes, and a special thank you to those of you who really got to know our mother. Thank you also to the staff from Hospice.
Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd. Shelton on Monday, August 25, 2014 from 9:30 to 11:00 AM. Her funeral service will begin in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Burial will immediately follow at Mt. St. Peters Cemetery in Derby.
