Joseph M. "Joe" DeLuca

DELUCA Joseph M. "Joe" DeLuca, age 78, long time resident of Westport and previously of Southbury, died Saturday, October 17, at his daughter's home in The Woodlands, Texas after a brief illness. He was the husband of Leonora "Lee" DeLuca. Mr. DeLuca, son of the late Frank and Anna DeLuca, grew up near the water and would later lobster off Long Island Sound on his boat, affectionately named "Morely."Besides his wife of 55 years, he is survived by two daughters, Donna Zim-owski and Barbara Vlaha; sons-in-law, Fred Zimowski and Rick Vlaha; five grandchildren, Joseph, Claire and Emma Zimowski, Grace and Christopher Vlaha; and a brother, Franny. His son, Danny, and sister, Ann "Chippie" Bennett, predeceased him. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his love of family and friends, and his wonderful laugh. A Memorial Mass will take place 11 a.m. Friday, November 20 at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Westport.
