PETTWAY Mr. Dixon Pettway also known to many as "Dixie" entered his eternal resting place January 21, 2010 at age 56. Dixon was born March 17, 1953 in Boykin, AL, and resided in Bridgeport, where he left this life to enter his new life with GOD. Dixon was born to the late Namon and Beatrice Pettway, and was predeceased by two brothers, Troy and Bobby Pettway, sister, Ruby Pettway Mosely, son, Shawn Wheeler and daughter, Tamika Wheeler Thompson, six uncles and six aunts. Dixon's memories will be cherished by his wife, Dorothy Pettway, his daughters Brittany Pettway of Bridgeport, Bonita Pettway of Mobile, AL; son, Andre Pettway of Bridgeport; six sisters, Rita Mosely of Brooklyn, NY, Laura (Tony Lee) Pettway of New York, Mahalia Pettway of Brooklyn, NY; Mittie (Kevin) Pettway of Bridgeport; Joyce Pettway of Boykin, AL, Frozeen Pettway of Boykin, AL; two brothers, Eavan (Annie) Pettway of Whistler, Al and Naman Pettway, Jr of New York; 12 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 165 Logan Street, Bridgeport. Family will receive guest from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the church. Interment at Lakeview Cemetery, Boston Avenue, Bridgeport.
