Albert Sambrook Sr.

SAMBROOK Albert Sambrook, Sr., age 81 of Shelton, entered into rest on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at the Griffin Hospital Derby. He is the devoted husband of 55 years to Arlene Godo Sambrook. Mr. Sambrook was born in Bridgeport on August 25, 1929, son of the late Emmanuel and Florrie Raestrict and has been a Shelton resident for more than 49 years. He was a pressman for more than 35 years at the CT Post until his retirement 19 years ago. He was a communicant of St. Margaret Mary Church. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Sutter Terlizzi Post #16 serving as the Commander in 1965. He is the beloved father of Albert Sambrook, Jr. and his wife, Laura, Frank Sambrook, and his fiancé, Deborah Rogers, William Sambrook, and his girl friend, Nancy, Sharon Colwell and her husband, Richard, and Joanne Roulanaitis and her husband, John. He is the cherished grandfather of Albert Sambrook, III, Jack Sambrook, Kayla Sambrook, Richard Colwell, Jr., Megan Colwell, Michael Colwell, Richard Lindberg, Jr., Patricia Lindberg, and Thomas Lindberg; and the loving great-grandfather of Tucker; and is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, James Sambrook, and a sister, Shirley Brydgyr. Friends may greet his family on Friday (TODAY) from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton. On Saturday his funeral will leave the funeral home at 10:45 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in St. Margaret Mary Church, Shelton. Burial will be private.
