BODNAR Alice Sardone Bodnar, age 95, of Fairfield, wife of the late Michael Bodnar, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 12, 2011 in St. Vincent's Medical Center with her family by her side. Born and raised in Naugatuck, Mrs. Bodnar was a Fairfield Town resident for most of her life. She had worked for some years as a Registered Nurse at the former Park City Hospital. Alice enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her many friends. Alice was a member of the Young at Heart seniors group, the Golden Agers and the Fairfield Seniors where she also volunteered at the gift shop and helped arrange their dance parties. Survivors include her son, Rodney Bodnar and his wife Peggy of Fairfield; grandchildren Joy and Michael Bodnar and Richard and Michael Alforque; sister-in-law Margaret Odachowski; as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Sandra Alforque, brothers Rocco, Joseph, Dominic and William Sardone and a sister Josephine Sardone. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11am in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield Center. Burial to follow in Lawncroft Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 8pm.
