IORFINO Dominic Frank Iorfino, 60, of Old Greenwich passed away at home sur -rounded by his loving family after a courageous fight with cancer on Wednesday, March 14, 2012. He was born in Stamford on May 21, 1951 to Domenic Iorfino, Sr. and the late Marianna Sette Iorfino. Dominic graduated from Stamford Catholic High School, Class of 1969, then went onto The University of New Haven, Class of 1973. Upon graduating Dominic joined the family business with his father in 1973, Domenic Iorfino & Son Builders until 1992. He then started his second career of which he found much enjoyment becoming a Tax Professional for H & R Block of Greenwich, of which he was currently employed. He was the past President of the Stamford Chapter of UNICO, and a member of Lega Arena Dasa. Besides his father , he is survived by his daughter Yvonne Cynara Iorfino Myers and her husband Simon of Old Greenwich, his son Gregory Dominic Iorfino of Old Greenwich and his fiancÃ©e Maria Alleluia, his three sisters Mary Elizabeth Harakal and her husband Warren of Monroe, Frances Fornabia and her husband Robert of Norwalk and Theresa Iorfino of Darien. Several nieces and nephews and grand nephews also survive. Besides his mother , he was predeceased by his wife Cynara Ogle Iorfino. A funeral procession will be leaving The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 on Friday, March 16, 2012 at 9:00 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. Catherine of Siena RC Church, 4 Riverside Avenue, Riverside, CT. Interment will follow at Putnam Cemetery, 35 Parsonage Road, Greenwich. Family and friends may call at the funeral home TODAY, Friday, March 16, 2012 from 4:00-7:00 PM.
