DUGGAN Mildred Constance McMullen Duggan, age 97 of Shelton , widow of Thomas Daniel Duggan Sr. passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 17, 2012 at Bishop Wicke Health Care. Born in Bridgeport she was the daughter of the late William S. and Constance Potts McMullen and was a life long Bridgeport resident before moving to Shelton in 2003. Mildred was a graduate of Harding High School class of 1932. She was a retired bookkeeper for Smith-Ramsey/Careau-Smith Stock Exchange in Bridgeport and was previously employed by Underwood Corporation testing Elliott Fisher bookkeeping machines. Mildred was an avid pinochle player. Her husband was a lieutenant with the Bridgeport Fire Department and her father was a motorcycle patrolman with the Bridgeport Police Department. Family was most important to her and Mildred's homemade cooking for holidays was special for everyone. Survivors include her devoted children; two sons, Thomas D. Duggan Jr. and his wife Marsha of Milford and William J. Duggan and his wife Barbara of Seymour, a daughter, Constance M. Schwarz of Shelton . 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased in addition to her husband and parents by a sister Violet H. Murphy, a son in law, Albert E. Schwarz Jr, daughter in law, Patricia Burke Duggan, and several brother and sister in laws, aunts and uncles. Friends are invited to attend funeral services on Friday April 20, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the Dennis & D'Arcy Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St. Stratford with the Rev. James Stinson, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday April 19, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. The family would like to thank the Doctors, nurses and staff of pavilion #4 at Bishop Wicke for their compassion and love shown to our mother during her stay.
