ROUSSAS Petros (Peter) Roussas age 66 of Newtown, beloved husband of 40 years to Anna Vidalis Roussas died peacefully on Tuesday April 24, 2012. Born in Andros Greece, he was a resident of Newtown since 1988. The son of the late Nikos and Vasiliki Tredemas Roussas, he was the former co-proprietor of Frankie's Diner located in Bridgeport. A kind and generous individual, he enjoyed farming, gardening, cooking and storytelling. A man who loved the simple things in life, he liked taking pride in his built brick oven. The center of everyone's attention, he took his greatest satisfaction in his granddaughter Eleni who was the apple of his eye. Survivors in addition to his wife Anna is his daughter Vasiliki Roussas-Bagordakis and husband Clever of Bridgeport, A son Nick Roussas and his wife Sandy of Newtown, his granddaughter Eleni, five sisters; Katinia, Kaliopi, Anna, Eleni and Panyiota, several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two brothers and a sister. Friends are invited to attend the Rite of Burial on Friday at 11:30am in the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 4070 Park Ave, Bridgeport with Fr. Andreas Vithoulkas Presbyter officiating followed by interment in Lakeview Cemetery Bridgeport. Calling hours will take place on Thursday April 26th from 4 to 8pm in the Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main St. Bridgeport (on the Trumbull line) with Trisagion services on Thursday evening at 6pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations made be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in loving memory of Peter.
