Rogers, Josephine M.
Josephine Mary Marinella Rogers a lifelong resident of Darien passed away at Stamford Hospital on September 21, 2012. She was born in Darien on January 7, 1922 to the late Giovanni Marinella and Giovanna (Spero) Marinella. She was 90.
Josephine graduated from Darien High School and was a longtime employee of Bradlees before retiring. She was a member of ST John's RC Church in Darien and their Cancer Sewing Group for many years. Above all, Josephine loved her family and enjoyed cooking for them.
She is survived by her two sons, Thomas P. Rogers and his wife, Ginny of Stratford and Patrick J. Rogers and his wife, Cyndee of Darien, three grandchildren, Christina Lewisand her husband, Brad, and Tricia and Patrick Rogersand 2 great-grandsons, Nathan and Christopher Lewisand many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her husband Joseph J. Rogers, three brothers, Carmine, James and John Marinella, three sisters, Jean Marinella, Mary Cerullo and Louise Stamatis.
Calling hours will be held at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Rd., Darien CT 06820 on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 8:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday September 26, 2012 at ST John's RC Church, 1986 Post Rd., Darien, CT at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at ST John's Cemetery in Norwalk.
