Blue, Carol
Carol J. (Flaherty) Blue, age 76, of Seymour and formerly of Derby passed away peacefully Sunday, October 21, 2012 at Griffin Hospital with her loving family by her side. Carol was born on December 25, 1935 in Derby, the daughter of the late Bartholomew A. and Elizabeth (Fredericks) Flaherty II. She was an administrative assistant for Save The Children and was a talented infant massage therapist. She was a eucharistic minister for the area prisons and was a catechism instructor at Holy Rosary Church. Expressing herself through the arts, Carol was a talented sketcher and oil and water painter and was an accomplished piano player. She was a member of the White Hills Chorale in Shelton and enjoyed many musical and acting plays amongst friends at the local playhouses. She was a professional clown and was a sports fan for any team her grandchildren played for. Carol was the loving mother of Carol Molnar and her husband, Alan, Ben Blue and his wife, Rita, Christopher Blue, Timothy Blue and his wife, Tina and Kathleen Blue. She also leaves nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, her brother, Bart Flaherty III and his wife, JoLynn, her sister-in-law, Charlotte Flaherty and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Donald R. Flaherty. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Church in Derby at 1:45pm on Wednesday, October 24, 2012. Her burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. The Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby has been entrusted with her arrangements. Please leave online condolences at
