Jennie B. Moretti, age 89, of Derby, passed away Saturday Nov. 3, 2012 at Griffin Hospital. She was the widow of Galiano Moretti. She was born in Derby on April 10, 1923 daughter of the late Rico and Ida Rondini and was a life long Derby resident. She is survived by her son, Eugene Moretti and daughter-in-law, Joanne M. Pelton of Oxford; brothers, Aldo Rondini of Fairfield, and Henry Rondini and his wife Pat, of The Villages, Fl.; several nieces and nephews, including a niece whom she loved dearly, Kate Diana and her husband Pete, of Derby. She was predeceased by a brother, Wilson Rondini. Jennie was a loving wife, mother and mother-in-law, who worked as a bookkeeper for many years. She was a devout communicant of St. Mary Church, who loved her extended family. Her happiest moments came when spending holidays, especially Christmas, at a family gathering. She loved to go out to eat and travel to the islands with her husband. Jennie's family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the staff at the Shady Knoll Health Care Center, especially the staff on the floor of Willow A, who made Jennie's three year stay there enjoyable. Her family would also like to express their gratitude to Dr. Lionel Lim and his staff in the critical care unit at Griffin Hospital who made Jennie's final week comfortable. Friends may call on Monday from 3 to 7 pm at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St. Derby. Her funeral will leave the funeral home on Tuesday at 10 am for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in St. Mary Church. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery.
