Goldman, Betty
Betty Goldman, age 93 of Bridgeport, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport. Mrs. Goldman was born in Hartford, CT., a daughter of the late Moishe Baer and Rose Dolinsky, and was a lifelong member of Congregation Rodeph Sholom, a member The Jewish Community Center of Bridgeport, and was a member for the American Jewish women's organization, Hadassah. Mrs. Goldman relished reading which greatly influenced her decision to become a librarian for the Bridgeport Public Library. She was an avid President Barack Obama supporter, and an enthusiastic sports fan, she loved UConn Women's Basketball, the Boston Red Sox, and good sportmanship. Most importantly she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Goldman was predeceased by her beloved husband Jack Goldman, and is survived by her devoted children, Arrie Goldman of Cape Cod, MA., Barry Goldman and his domestic partner Margaret Franklin of Boston, MA., Jeffrey Goldman and his wife Judy of Trumbull, CT., her brother, Jack Dolinsky and his wife Roseann of West Hartford, CT, and by her adored grandchildren Heather Hoffman, Joshua Hoffman, Jonathan Goldman, and Alissa Goldman. Mrs. Goldman was predeceased by her brothers Sam and Sol, and her sister Norah. She also leaves behind many cherished nephews and nieces. Services will take place on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Rodeph Sholom Congregation 2385 Park Avenue, Bridgeport, with interment following at Rodeph Sholom Memorial Park on Kings Highway in Fairfield. The Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home of Fairfield is in care of the arrangements. Memorial Contributions may be made to the United Jewish Appeal of Eastern Fairfield County (www.jccs.org/uja) or Hadassah (Hadassah.org).
