Thompson, Beatrice Myrtle.

Beatrice Myrtle Knecht Thompson passed away peacefully at the age of 88 in Danbury Hospital November 15, 2012. She was a Sandy Hook resident for the past 40 years. She was born and raised in Trumbull, the daughter of the late Alwin and Katherine Machalowski Knecht. Beatrice was the fourth of seven children, born October 7th, 1924. She was a graduate of Bassick High School, Class of 1942. Beatrice was a special person who added much joy to her family. Although she held many different titles, the one that seemed most fitting was friend. She spent countless hours with all who loved her, playing cards, doing puzzles or just talking about the events of the day. Beatrice was an avid gardener and donned a bumper sticker that read "I brake for lobsters". She always made her home a loving, inviting place and her memory will be cherished by all. Beatrice is survived by her loving family: her son and his wife Wayne and Annette Thompson of Sandy Hook; daughter-in-law Gail Thompson of AZ; four granddaughters: Stacie Latham and her husband Bill of FL, Liberty Hernly and her husband Greg of AZ, Carrie Milks and her husband Jay of Sandy Hook and Jessica Thompson and her fiancé Tony Martinez also of Sandy Hook. She was fondly referred to as GG by her biggest fans. She was very proud and honored to have 8 great grandchildren: Sandra Lee, Maranda, Zechariah and Urijah Hernly, Kyle and Caitlin Milks, Ethan K. Thompson and JessaLee Martinez. Beatrice has one surviving sister, Lillian K. Townsend of Trumbull. Also surviving her is her grand dog Melanie, who always knew Beatrice was her best chance of getting a snack. She was predeceased by her loving husband Frederick A. Thompson Sr, her daughter Sandy L. Sabados, her son Frederick A. Thompson Jr (Skipper), a granddaughter Stephanie L. Sabados and 5 brothers.
To honor Beatrice's wishes there will be no calling hours and a private burial is planned. Arrangements in care of the Cyril F. Mullins FuneralHome 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull. To leave an on line conoldences please visit
