Andrew G. Bekech, age 89, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Julia Waslesyn Bekech passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2012 in St. Vincent's Medical Center. Mr. Bekech, a WW II Veteran of the U.S. Navy Seabees, serving in the Pacific as a Frogman, was born in Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania to the late Andrew and Mary (Yurek) Bekech, and has been a long time area resident. He was a 1951 graduate of the Warren Institute of Business with a degree in accounting, and was a retired purchasing agent for AVCO. Andrew was a member of the American Legion Post # 50 Mt. Carmel, PA, the D.A. V of Connecticut, and a 4th Degree Knight, with the Mother Cabrini Council of the Knights of Columbus, Bridgeport. Survivors in addition to his beloved wife of sixty-six years, include his children Ronald Bekech and his wife Gynine of FL, Andrew Bekech and his wife Patricia of Huntington, Michael Bekech and his wife Paula of Trumbull, Karen Hine and her husband Donald of Woodbridge, and Mary Rose Barker and hr husband Jeffrey of PA, 15 grandchildren Andrew, Lauren, and Mia Bekech, Julie French, Tanya Allain, James Hine, Jared, Seth, David, Jacob, Nathan, Abigail, Hannah, Joshua Barker, and Sarah Waldner, 15 great-grandchildren, a brother George Bekech of Trumbull, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by a grandson Aaron Hine. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, January 3rd at 9:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, and at 10 a.m. in St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church, Nichols for a Divine Liturgy with Office of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will be in Nichols Village Cemetery.
