Graham, Vonda Lee
Vonda Lee Graham, beloved daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, and friend, passed away on March 13th. She was born on July 31, 1969, daughter of Nancy Kehoe Graham and the late Byron Graham Jr. She was raised in Easton, CT where she graduated from Joel Barlow High School in 1987. She served in the U.S. Army Reserves between 1987 and 1994 during which she received a diploma from the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California, became a Staff Sergeant in the Military Intelligence Interrogation Unit, and earned an Army Commendation Medal for exemplary service in Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Storm. She received a Bachelors Degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Connecticut and then participated in the one year Connecticut/ Baden-Württemberg Exchange Program in Heidelberg, Germany. Later she earned a Masters Degree in Linguistics from Central CT State University, and taught at the Vaasa Polytechnic University in Finland and at the University of Bridgeport English Language Institute. For the past ten years, she resided in Meriden, CT, where she worked as a supervisor for Verizon Wireless. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her for her quirky sense of humor, endless generosity, vibrant spirit, and loving heart. She is survived by her mother, her Uncle John, her sister Joanna and husband Chris and their daughter Johnna, her brother Byron III and wife Kerry, her cat Princess Butterfly Kisses, and many cousins, friends, and coworkers.
A Memorial Mass will take place on Wednesday, March 20th at 11 a.m. at Notre Dame Church, Morehouse Road in Easton. A private burial will be held at a later date.
