Hugus, Jr., Wright
Wright Hugus, Jr., age 82 of Fairfield, the beloved husband of 34 years of Elizabeth (Thomas) Hugus of Weston, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 20, 2013. He was born in Wheeling, WV to the late Wright Hugus, Sr. and Martha (Majesky) Hugus.
He graduated from Duke University and subsequently was commissioned as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy where he served in the Korean War as a Naval Intelligence officer and aide to Admiral Wayne Sabin. In 1959, he graduated from the University of Virginia Law School. He practiced law throughout the U.S. and abroad with a specialty in Sports Law and Sports Management thus founding Hugus Enterprises in Greenwich. Following his retirement in 1994, he owned and operated a Good Humor Ice Cream truck and was well known in Fairfield County, serving countless children and adults.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Stephanie Racz of Dorset, VT, Christin O'Neill of Stratford and Wright Hugus, III of Denver, CO; and grandchildren, Bryan, Robin, Wright IV and Morgan.
Friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at 11 a.m. directly at First Church Congregational in Fairfield. Interment will follow in the church's Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Church Congregational, 148 Beach Rd, Fairfield, CT 06824.
