Stote, Philip J.
Philip J. (Relyea) Stote age 85 of Monroe, CT passed away on Friday, October 18, 2013 at the home of his best friend after a courageous battle with cancer. His strength and courage during his illness and all through his life is an inspiration to all of us. He will always be remembered for his unique sense of humor that brightened your life. Born in Providence, RI and raised in Bridgeport, CT he was the son of the late Philip and Elizabeth (Relyea) Stote. Phil graduated from Bassick High School, Bridgeport, CT and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era. He was a respected and sought-after, master plumber and owner of P.J. Stote Plumbing and Heating Co. Phil is survived by his daughter Gale Bodurtha of Lyndeborough, NH, his grandsons Alex Wu, Springfield, MA, Eric Wu, Menands, NY his granddaughter Jennifer Bodurtha of Sanford, FL and his best friend, confidante and companion Anne Carroll, Loudonville, NY and several close nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy Stote, his son Gary Stote and his daughter Debra Wu. He was a wonderful "father, grandfather, uncle and friend". We love you and will always carry your memory in our hearts. A special thank you to Dr. Charles Weissman, Dr. Gennaro Daniels and Community Hospice of Albany. In honor of Phil's request and wishes, there will be no funeral or wake. For those who desire a memorial contribution may be made to the Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd.
