Ann Guranovitz, 89, died peacefully in her sleep on November 8, 2013 at her home in Bradenton, Florida. She is survived by four children, Beverlee Costanzo and William Costanzo (Michele) of Bradenton, Florida, Gayle Van Pelt (Edmund) of Waterbury and James Costanzo (Debbie) of Bristol. She has seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Ms. Guranovitz was predeceased by her oldest son Louis Johnny Costanzo, in 1997. She was born to Alexander and Mary Guranovitz in Bridgeport and lived there for more than 50 years before moving to Newtown in 1977. She enjoyed her home in Newtown and liked to refer to it as her "house on the mountain." She moved to Bradenton in 2010. Ms. Guranovitz worked at Casco Products during WWII and after the war worked for more than thirty years in Nursing at Bridgeport Hospital. She was also an artist, an avid reader, a New Age thinker and was proud to be a strong, independent woman decades before it became vogue.
