Paul Joseph Leska Sr, age 66, passed Feb 2nd in Sun City, AZ. Born in Bridgeport, CT Dec 15th 1947, he was a lifelong musician and amateur radio operator, performing in Drum & Bugle Corps with St. Raphael's Golden Buccaneers, the Connecticut Hurricanes and Park City Pride alumni corps. Paul graduated Notre Dame H.S., attended Quinnipiac University and enlisted in the Navy as a Corpsman, serving the Marines honorably in Vietnam, returning to MN in 1969 to complete a B.S. Degree at the UofM. Paul excelled at mechanical engineering, working for Litton Microwave, started Versapierce Inc., continued at Federal Cartridge and finally MTS Systems for 29 years, receiving 12 patents for his inventions. Paul was an avid expert class licensed "ham" operator, call sign W0PL (WD0DNQ prior) assisting the Desert Voices / Navy MARS programs and a lifelong outdoors-man who loved camping, hunting and target shooting with his children and friends. He had a jovial disposition, endless stories to share, uncanny conversational ability to befriend strangers and an endless supply of one-liners. His presence will be forever missed. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lillian, survived by his wife Karen, children Paul (Sandi) Leska Jr., Eric (Nicolle) Leska and Cecelia (Cory) Hudson, step-children Michelle Jacob, Michael (Lisa) Jacob and Jason (Liz) Jacob, sister Carol (Tom) Kartak, and 13 grandchildren. Visitation: Washburn-McReavy Eden Prairie, Thursday, Feb 13 at 4pm and 1 hour prior the service Friday, Feb 14 at the church. Funeral: Our Lady of Grace, 5071 Eden Ave., Edina, Friday, Feb 14 at 11am. Interment to follow at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at 2pm. Memorial service for Paul in Connecticut is pending.
