Altagracia Hamilton, 92, of Beaver Falls went to her heavenly rest on Monday, December 15, 2014 at Cambridge Village following a short illness.
Born August 24, 1922 in Brownsville, TX, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Vivian (Vasques) Flores. She proudly served as a US Navy Wave during WWII. Grace, as she was known, was a widow to the late Mitchell Louis Hamilton, who died in 1993. She had a deep devotion the Catholic Church and especially to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Isaac, Raymond, Armando and George; a sister, Lillian.
She will be remembered and missed by her children, Vivian Schellinck and her husband John of NJ, Carmen Moniz and her husband Christopher of VA, Beatrice Whalen and her husband William of Chippewa and Mitchell L. Hamilton and his wife Connie of NY; 8 grandchildren, Chad, Aaron, Jason, Apache, Christopher, Jessica, Ryan and Louis; 9 great grandchildren, Erika, Nikki, Brendan, Jacob, Kolton, Ryder, Slade, Ophelia, and Ren; her brothers, Alex and Fred Flores; her sister Beatrice Corsino.
Friends will be received Friday from 4-8pm at the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 117 Blackhawk Road, Chippewa, www.gabauerluttonfuneralhome.com, the Beaver County Special Unit will present military honors Friday at 7:30pm. Prayers will be held on Saturday at 11:20am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon at St. Monica Chippewa.
Interment will be private at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
