John Gulash Jr, age 89, formerly of Fairfield, husband of the late Mary Marosa Gulash, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2015. Born in Bridgeport, son of the late John and Anna Slosar Gulash, John had lived in Long Island, New York and later back to Bridgeport for most of his life before moving to Fairfield. He was an United States Army Air Force Veteran serving in WWII as well as the Korean War. He had worked for the Xerox Corporation until his retirement. John was an avid bowler, competing in several leagues and was a wonderful artist who enjoyed painting and drawing. John was very handy around the home and loved his repair projects. Survivors include his daughter, Mary Hoffee and her husband Joseph of Brookline, MA, his son John Gulash of Rutland, VT, grandchildren, Anna Hoffee of Boulder, Colorado and Max Hoffee of Denver Colorado. He leaves behind a sister in law Anne Chatlos of Fairfield as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his brother in law George Chatlos. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 am in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield Center with burial to follow in Lawncroft Cemetery with full Military Honors.
