Terifay, Alexander B.
Alexander B. Terifay, born on May 6, 1941 died peacefully with his loving wife by his side on Monday, July 20, 2015. Son of the late Emily & Alexander Terifay, lived in Fairfield, CT for most of his life until retiring to Naples, FL with his wife Susan. Al graduated from Andrew Warde High School then served in the U.S. Navy Reserve for 4 years with 2 years active duty on the USS McGowan destroyer. After he was discharged in 1960, he worked for Perkin Elmer and then he joined the Fairfield Police Dept. in 1971 to 1996. He was a life- long member of Port 5 National Association of Navel Veterans in Bridgeport, CT. Al enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson back in the day and was always getting a new tattoo. He also enjoyed fishing and talking for hours about his experiences on the police force. He had a deep love for his children, grandchildren, extended family & friends. He is pre-deceased by his daughter Susan L. Terifay. Al is survived by his wife of 22 years, Susan, his brother Edward Terifay and his wife Cynthia and their three sons, Edward Jr. Brian and Stephen. He is also survived by his daughter Amy & her husband Giuliano DiNino, their 3 daughters, Katie, Julia and Gina. His son Alexander and his wife Jennifer, their 3 children Samantha, Nicholas & Emalie. His son Kevin, his 3 children, Jake, Kelly & Henry, Son Michael & his wife Yvette and their son Matthew. And grandchildren Nicholas & Chloe Dymarcik and Lena Rathjen. A memorial mass to be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 10:00am at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 700 Old Stratfield Rd. Fairfield, CT.
