Jay Lebenson Obituary
Jay Lebenson, age 77 of Fairfield and formerly of New York, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, June 8, 2016. Mr. Lebenson was born in Queens, NY, the son of the late Herbert and Charlotte Lebenson. Jay graduated from Hofstra University and became an insurance broker in his own agency, Hess-Morris-Lebenson, and later joined Tanenbaum-Harber Company in NY. Jay was an avid NY Yankees fan, an accomplished 12 string guitar player, a movie fanatic, and had maintained a strong following of business news. He later became very involved and active with the Fairfield Senior Center, and had an immeasurable love for his dog Murray. Mr. Lebenson is survived by his devoted children Beth Lebenson Praver and her husband Rabbi Shaul Praver and Jonathan Lebenson, and by his cherished grandchildren Noah, Shane, and Charlotte Praver. Jay was predeceased by his beloved wife Maureen, and his adored sister Betsy Lebenson. A funeral service will take place on Thursday (TODAY) June 9, 2016 at 4:00 PM from the Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home, 88 Beach Road in Fairfield. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the A.S.P.C.A. or the North Shore Animal League.

Very sorry about the passing of Jay. He was on of a kind, many great memories. We worked together for roughly 25 yearsin the Insurance industry, and his connections in placing tough insurance risks was incredible. RIP Jay, many fond memories of you..

I am so sorry and pained to just hear about the loss of Jay. Jay was a good friend and business associate of mine for at least 25 years. He also was a friend of my family. My condolences to his family and other friends and associates. Knowing Jay he did live a full and fun life.

To Jay's family - Your Father enjoyed his time with his "senior family" at the Fairfield Bigalow Center. All of us give you our compassion and thoughtful condolences as you go through this difficult time. I want to give my most sincere condolences to the family of a man that I was fortunate to know if only for a short while. Jay was a member of my husband's table at the Senior Center and will most defiantly be missed. He always kept me up to date on the latest news about everything. I will really miss that.
