David Biondi Obituary

David R. Biondi, Esq.
David R. Biondi, Esq., age 75, of Shelton, beloved husband of Patricia Sedita Biondi, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford, surrounded by his loving family. Born in New York, NY on August 14, 1941, David was a resident of Hell's Kitchen and a son of the late Nicholas and Honora Murphy Biondi. A highly accomplished and respected corporate and private practice attorney, David earned a B.S. in accounting from St. Peter's College; an L.L.B. and J.D. from Brooklyn Law School; and an L.L.M. from New York University. He specialized in corporate law, taxation, real estate and mergers and acquisitions, with a significant focus on international matters. Attorney Biondi held numerous senior legal positions through his career (including at companies such as Gulf&Western, Paramount and Raybestos) and appeared in high-ranking federal and state courts. In addition, he represented numerous governments in various international transactions and was also a contributor on U.S. tax and pension regulatory matters. Attorney Biondi was a member of the New York and Connecticut Bar Association, and admitted to the U.S. Tax Court, U.S. Claims Court, U.S. District Courts in the Southern and Eastern Districts of NY and U.S. District Court of CT. Most recently, David focused his practice locally in CT and took great pride in representing individuals and small businesses. David was an avid boatsman for many years and truly enjoyed spending time on the open sea and at local yacht clubs where he was an active member. He was also an avid fan of the NY Giants, with whom he participated in an open try-out as a placekicker (he did not make the team). Above all, he was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who treasured time with his family. He also cared deeply for his canine companions Hanna and Bella. David will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his beloved wife of 28 years, Patricia, survivors include seven loving children: David Biondi II (wife Katherine) of Mesa, AZ, Peter Biondi (wife Christine) of Trumbull, Brian Biondi of New Orleans, LA, Terri Rohan (husband Alex) of Stamford, Christopher DeSanctis (wife Deneen) of Staten Island, NY, Donamarie Oligino (husband Todd) of Daniel Island, SC and David DeSanctis (wife Christina) of Trumbull; three siblings: brothers Dr. Richard Biondi (wife Cindy) of Beacon Falls and Lawrence Biondi of Milford, and sister Christina Macejak (husband Edward) of Madison; eighteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Robert and Susan Biondi. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Rd., Shelton on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Hospice Inc., 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405. To leave an online condolence, visit us at www.abriola.com.

Dear Biondi Family,
I met Dave only once but I have numerous memories of stories from my father, Andrew McCarthy, when he lovingly reminisces about his childhood (and beyond) adventures with Dave. His impact on my dad and our family is unmeasurable and never-ending. We have another angel looking out for all of us!

A friend and colleague I miss David. We met when we were on opposite sides of a case, and true to form we battled it out, enjoying the wit and quick thought flew fast, the hearing was quite an introduction to a man I later came to call friend.
Karen and I miss you.

Mr Biondi was a good man. He was there for our family in a time of need when I was barely a teenager. And although the decades have passed, I never forgot that. I wish him peace.
