Arlene C. Tarbox, age 76, of Shelton, beloved wife of the late Walter E. Tarbox, died peacefully on June 1, 2017 surrounded by her family. Mrs. Tarbox was born in New Haven on August 15, 1940 to the late Theodore Carl and Eleanor Ellis Hokunson. She worked as a supervisor for CT National Bank for over 25 years and after retirement, worked at The Christmas Tree Shops. Arlene loved animals, especially cats, and had many feline friends over the years. She was a beautiful soul who lived to laugh, was adored by everyone she met, and was always up for a conversation. She will be dearly missed by her family and her very large circle of friends. She is survived by her brother, Frank Hokunson (Cora) of Simsbury, niece and nephews: Sherry Manley (Greg), Robert Hokunson Jr. (Sandy), Scott Hokunson, Gary Hokunson (Sara) and Todd Hokunson (Audra), her step-son, Thomas Tarbox and by many adoring grand-nieces and nephews. Arlene is predeceased by her twin brother, Robert Hokunson Sr. and her step-son, Robert Tarbox.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm in THE GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 am in the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Shelton.
