Ruth Friedman Englander

ENGLANDER Ruth Friedman Englander, age 88, of Fairfield, died Saturday, February 28, 2004, in the Jewish Home for the Elderly, Fairfield. Mrs. Englander was born in Bridgeport and was a lifetime area resident. She was the widow of Dr. Jesse Englander. Mrs. Englander was a graduate of Central High School and worked as a licensed dental hygienist. She was a member of Congregation Rodeph Sholom and an avid golfer and bridge player. She is survived by a daughter, Linda Apell of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; three sons, Glen Englander of Huntington, Alan Englander of Westport and Kent Englander of St. Petersburg, Fla.; five grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will take place (TODAY) at 10:30 a.m., at the Rodeph Sholom Memorial Park, Kings Highway, Fairfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish Home for the Elderly. The Abraham L. Green & Son Funeral Home, Fairfield is in care of the arrangements.
